Wiper Patriotic Front leader Kalonzo Musyoka is banking his presidential ambition on a new slogan, ’20 million strong,’ which he believes will rally the country behind his clarion call.
Kalonzo is part of the wider United Opposition outfit that has various presidential hopefuls. The opposition has not yet settled on a 2027 ticket, but Kalonzo, Eugene Wamalwa, Rigathi Gachagua, and Fred Matiang’i are all hoping to be picked as flagbearers.
‘Time is now’
“The time for honest leadership is now. Wazalendo wenzangu. Kenyans are tired of being remembered only at election time. They want a government that serves them every day, not one built on handouts, empty promises, and the misuse of public resources for political gain,” Kalonzo said in a statement.
“I have heard you, and I give you my word: this will not happen again. #WeAre20MillionStrong. Together, we will build a nation founded on integrity, accountability, and fairness, where every region gets its fair share of development, and every Kenyan is treated with the dignity they deserve,” he added.
The former Vice President also looked back on the time he was serving under Mwai Kibaki and said he would revisit the same.
“I have done this before. Together with President Mwai Kibaki, I helped lead Kenya through a season of stability, growth, and shared prosperity. I am ready to do it again. Together, we will restore trust in leadership, strengthen our institutions, and put service before politics,” the former Mwingi North MP said.
“The time for honest leadership is now. Visit my campaign platform and join the movement. Support the cause. Together, tuko Komboa Kenya.”
