United States ambassador to Kenya Kyle McCarter has attracted the ire of self-proclaimed general and lawyer Miguna Miguna, who sparked venomous reactions, after the envoy tweeted photos of meetings with businessman Chris Kirubi and George Kinoti – the Directorate of Criminal Investigations boss.
McCarter expressed his delight at meeting Kirubi, with whom he had discussed ways of creating employment for the youth. Another tweet lauded DCI Kinoti for his efforts in the fight against corruption, pledging his support.
Miguna, exiled in Canada, immediately responded questioning the integrity of the envoy and what followed was a series of tweets, majority against the envoy.
McCarter’s defense of his integrity did not help him either as KOT suggested he did not need to respond in defence of his integrity. Instead they called on the envoy to make his through his actions, not words.Here are some of the reactions:
