Nairobi City County Government has been selected to host this year’s national World Environment Day on the 5 June.
Nairobi City County Environment CEC Vesca Kangogo, on Thursday, chaired the national steering committee meeting at City Hall in preparations for the World Environment Day.
Nairobi leads all other counties in having the highest levels of pollution in ambient air and therefore representative of all the cities and towns where the manifestation of air pollution is witnessed.
The county expects the national event to trigger positive interventions and commitments from all stakeholders to create awareness on the state of air pollution in Nairobi and the country at large and take action to reduce both ambient and indoor air pollution.
