Shock in Eldoret as KDF officer murders three kin before turning gun on self

By

A Kenyan soldier shot dead three of his relatives in Eldoret before turning the gun on himself on Tuesday dawn.

Eldoret West Sub-County Commander Zachariah Bittok confirmed the incident, saying they were yet to establish the motive of the incident which occurred at 5am.

The Kenya Defence Forces officer moved from his home, some three kilometres away from where he committed the crime, armed with the gun.

Locals expressed shock saying the solider had never shown signs of being troubled.

There have been increased cases of security officers committing such incidents in what has been attributed to a myriad of issues, among them depression.
