NYS, KDF shine during Nairobi Chairman’s tae-kwondo tournament

By

National Youth Service and Kenya Defence Forces Taekwondo teams put up a gallant show to win the upper and lower divisions in both men and ladies category in the one day Nairobi Chairman five-a-side tournament held at the United States International University students hall.

NYS won the upper division category for men in the packed hall, with Kenya Navy finishing second as KDF settled for third spot.

KDF, however, avenged their dismal show in the men’s division by clinching the ladies’ category by emerging tops. NYS came second with Kemu University coming third.

The event attracted over 13 clubs.

Regional Taekwondu team bankrolled and managed by Voiya Lumwach  harvested heavily in the lower division men’s category. KDF finished second with NYS coming third.

Captain Mutua from Kenya Navy, Lumwach and top instructor Master Ernest Olayo presented trophies to the winning teams.
