“Its not personal brother” were the words of Muranga Senator Irungu Kangata to Governor Mwangi wa Iria.
Speaking over the weekend at a thanksgiving ceremony in Kahuhia Girls High School, Kangata told the governor to take responsibility for the misused funds as cited by the Auditor General in the 2017-2018 budget.
Wa Iria was summoned by the senate Public Accounts and Investments Committee last week to answer queries.
In his defence, wa Iria accused the senators of using the reports to drag his name in the mud and asked Kangata to stop pretending that he was fighting for his people’s interests.”You need to understand the role of the senate. I urge anybody who is trying to fight the senate to stop since we are only doing our work,” Kangata said.
