Kenya’s duo of Francis Kahata and Farouk Shikhalo are set to begin their careers in Tanzania after their new clubs – Simba SC and Yanga secured their work permits.
The duo will now be able to play for their clubs without any hindrance from Tanzania immigration authorities.
Simba, currently in Rustenburg in South Africa for pre-season training, have recruited six new foreign players who will feature for three major competitions including the Tanzania Mainland League, CAF Champions League and Azam sports Federation Cup.
Other new signing for Simba include Brazilian trio of Da Gerson Fragi Viera, Wilker Henrique Da Silva and Tairone Santos Da Silva. Others are Deogracius Kanda from DRC and Sudanese Sharaf Ali Abdalrah.
Apart from the six new faces, Simba have renewed contracts and secured work permits for three former foreign players who plied last season. They include Clatous Chama from Zambia, former Gor Mahia and Rwanda striker Meddie Kagere and Ivory Coast central defender Pascal Wawa.
Elsewhere, Yanga has also finalized and secured work permits for their new foreign players. The new arrivals at Yanga include Patrick Sibomana from Rwanda, Maybin Kalango (Zambia), Juma Balinya (Uganda), Farouk Shikhalo (Kenya), Issa Bigirimana(Rwanda), Lamine Moro(Ghana), Burundian Mustapha Selemani and Namibia-born Sadney Urikhob.
According to Yanga vice chairman Fred Mwakalebera, Yanga are camping in Morogoro ahead of the Mainland League season.
