Legendary Chelsea defender, John Terry, is set to make a return to Stamford Bridge in a charity match.
Terry will feature for England in Soccer Aid World 2019 alongside Didier Drogba, Joe Cole and Michael Essien.
The decorated ex-Blues’ captain will also line up alongside former defensive partner, Ricardo Carvalho, for the UNICEF charity event.
Terry, currently the assistant manager at Aston Villa, has admitted he will be relishing the chance to return to west London.
Special moments
“Being back at Stamford Bridge will, of course, be very significant for me personally – I have many cherished memories on that pitch,” he said.
“Soccer Aid for Unicef will be right up there in terms of creating special moments, which, after all, is why we love football so much.”
The 38-year-old who announced his retirement from international duty in 2012 will play under former national team coach, Sam Allardyce, during the welfare showdown.
The former England international made more than 700 appearances for Chelsea and has 78 caps with England.
He won 15 major honours for Chelsea during his stay with the club that spanned to more than 19 seasons.
