Ghana’s Black of Stars of Ghana sailed to the top of Group “F” in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers after edging Kenya’s
Harambee Stars 1-0 at the Accra Sports club before a good turn-out.

The hosts had to wait until the 82nd minute to secure the winner that came late with debutante Caleb Ekuban beating Harambee Stars keper – Patrick Matasi, with an easy goal that slipped through his arms.

Turkey-based Ekuban, who replaced Alhassan Wakaso on 59 minutes, struck home a low drive past Matasi after being set up by Thomas Partey.

Kenya seemed headed for a historic draw which would have ensured they top the group but Ekuban had other ideas.

Ghana finish top of the group on nine points, two ahead of Kenya.

Harambee Stars had few  flashes of brilliance  that earned them a round of applause. Barely after four minutes of play, Eric Johanna’s
shot from outside the box was parried by Ghana goalkeeper Richard Ofori and Francis Kahata unable to pounce on the rebound on time.
