Kenya Airports Authority maintains the aviation workers strike is illegal as operations remain disrupted across the country’s major airports.

In a statement, KAA said they were doing their best to ensure a return to normalcy, advising travelers to contact individual airlines for further advise on their scheduled flights.

“Kenya Airports Authority wishes to inform the public that we are experiencing some operational disruptions at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) due to an illegal strike by a section of airport staff,” read the statement to the media.

“We are currently taking measures to ensure normalcy returns as soon as possible and that service interruptions are minimized.

“We advise all passengers using JKIA to get in touch with their respective airlines to confirm their travel arrangements.

“Kenya Airports Authority is committed to ensuring that normalcy returns to all its airports as soon as possible and will keep the public informed of any further developments.”

Aviation workers went on strike on Wednesday morning disrupting operations at JKIA and other airports in the country over the proposed Kenya Airways takeover of operations at the airport.
