Kenyan striker Moses Shumah has completed a move to South African Premier Soccer League side AmaZulu FC.
After an impressive run with Power Dynamos in the Zambian Super League, Shumah has left and joined the Durban-based PSL club.
Shumah, 23, had a year remaining in his Power Dynamos contract, but after playing a vital role and helping the club retain the league title, he attracted more suitors and has now chosen a move south to the PSL.
The former Kakamega Homeboyz star scored 21 league goals and won the Golden Boot and Footballer of the Season of the 2025/26 campaign.
Power Dynamos confirm Shumah’s departure
“Power Dynamos Football Club (PDFC) wishes to announce the departure of striker Moses Shumah and midfielder Brian Masanyinga from the club. Shumah has completed a transfer to South African Premier Soccer League (PSL) side AmaZulu FC after the club reached an agreement with the Durban-based outfit.
Although he had a year remaining on his contract, the striker has opted to join the South African outfit,” the club announced.
“Shumah joined Power Dynamos from Kakamega Homeboyz in July last year and enjoyed a breakthrough season at Arthur Davies Stadium, winning the MTN Super League Golden Boot after scoring 21 goals. He departs the club having scored 23 goals in all competitions during his time with Power Dynamos.”
Dynamos Chief Executive Officer Gibson Chaloba paid a glowing tribute to Shumah, who now joins a number of Kenyan players in the PSL.
“Moses had an excellent season for us, and his goals were a major reason for our success. He worked hard, remained focused, and has earned this opportunity to take the next step in his career. We are happy for him and wish him all the best in South Africa.”
After playing in the Football Kenya Premier League and the Zambian top flight, Shumah will now test his abilities in a different environment in South Africa.
