Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has claimed President William Ruto has gone berserk after his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidate lost the Ol Kalou by-election.
In a one-sided contest, DCP candidate Samuel Douglas Kamau emerged the winner, beating UDA’s Sammy Muchina. Now, Gachagua claims that the head of state and his government are in a state of frenzy after they were whitewashed in the mini-poll.
“Mr. William Ruto and his homeboys have gone berserk. Tempers are flying. But Kenyans are more annoyed and in pain than ever before since independence,” Gachagua said in a statement.
“Totally rejected by the people of Kenya, they have mobilized rogue police officers and goons to terrorize the very people who gave them power and who pay taxes through the nose, yet there is nothing to show.”
“During Ol Kalou by-elections this week, Kenyans were horrified and held their breath in disbelief as hooded police officers and goons, in broad daylight and in full view of cameras, terrorized innocent voters in Ol Kalou, killing one person and critically injuring twenty others in a futile attempt to force people to vote for the UDA candidate. But it failed flat!”
Claim of police causing havoc
The former MP also claimed that armed police officers shot at civilians after the UDA’s tactics of winning the parliamentary seat failed.
“They shot at innocent Kenyans from the rooftops of high-end SUVs, something that has never been witnessed anywhere in the world. Even Haiti is shocked by their student, Mr. William Ruto from an East African Nation!” he added.
“When their bribery mission targeting Ol Kalou voters failed, they embarked on causing havoc to disrupt the counting of votes, but the voters occupied the polling stations and barricaded them with their bodies; a human shield! This is a resolve never seen in the history of Kenya. Not even when Nations have external aggressions!”
“This is where we have gotten as a nation, where Kenyans are willing to die to protect their vote and their rights. Unfortunately, this regime cannot smell coffee! It was the highest height of impunity as uniformed police officers watched the rogue officers in utter shock.”
Murkomen criticised
Gachagua also turned his guns on the Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen.
“Local commanders had been instructed not to interfere with the ‘activities’ of the rogue squad. Police officers, the residents of Nyandarua, as well as journalists who were attacked, are horrified to hear the juvenile CS in charge of Goonism and the Coordination of State Terror telling Kenyans yesterday that Ol Kalou was very peaceful,” Gachagua claimed.
“Yesterday, he ignorantly and pretentiously argued that he was disappointed that nobody was praising the police for keeping the peace in Ol Kalou. This young man, excited by power and the abrupt, obnoxious, and primitive accumulation of wealth, taxpayers’ money, is taking Kenyans for fools.”
“He thinks we are him! He is calling for investigations into isolated cases, but we know they won’t happen because he is the one who authorized and financed the attacks. Not unless he is inciting the police to investigate him and those who dare, I am sorry, they might disappear. He knows the vehicles ferrying the attackers belong to a man, Hon. Kawanjiku, who was captured on video directing and commanding the attacks.
“Bwana CS for Goonism, Kenyans are not fools!”
