FKF Premier League side AFC Leopards will be buoyed by the return of their mercurial midfielder Eugene Mukangula who will be available for selection for their Football Kenya Federation Premier League match against Kariobangi Sharks at Nyayo Stadium on Sunday.
Mukangula’s return corresponds to Ingwe’s fine form of five wins two draws and two losses from nine matches.
The former Thika United talisman revealed that he was handed a clean bill of health on Tuesday and is hopeful of getting some minutes possibly in their next league match against Kariobangi Sharks.
He has been sidelined for the past six weeks after suffering a hamstring injury he sustained during their deservingly 1-0 win over Nairobi City Stars.
For the time Mukangula has been out, coach Peter Thiong’o has been wearing the captain’s armband with Lewis Bandi deputizing him.
Leopards are currently ranked position five having accumulated 25 points after 15 rounds, eight behind leaders Gor Mahia and will be out to extend their fine form under Belgian tactician Patrick Aussems.
Heading to the Sharks game, Ingwe will miss the services of defender Robert Mudenyo who was injured in training two weeks ago, while attacking midfielder Dan Sunguti is expected to return to training next week after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) early last year.
Ingwe comes into the game against Sharks psyched up from their 6-0 win over Talanta, but their opponents on their other hand are struggling to tick the right boxes, with their last game, a derby against Mathare United ending in a 2-1 loss.
However, despite the loss Sharks are the leading scorers in the league with 23 goals.
