KISII, Kenya Jan 4 – A man whose genitals were bitten off by his wife says he has forgiven her for the sake of peace.

38-year-old Eliud Kepha who is hospitalised said he “does not want problems and that is why he has opted to forgive his second wife, Grace Oyaro, 35.

“I am ready to forgive my wife, I don’t want to get into problems,” Kepha told journalists from his hospital bed Wednesday, hours after his wife was charged with causing grievous bodily harm and assault.

The incident occurred on New Year’s Eve during an altercation sparked off by allegations of infidelity leveled against the man.

Kepha is admitted to the Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital (KTRH) where he is receiving treatment.

The woman was arraigned at the Kisii law courts before Senior Principal magistrate Caroline Ocharo where she denied causing grievous harm to her husband.

She was granted a bond of Sh50,000 and a surety of a similar amount to acquire her freedom as the case continues.

The case will be mentioned on 26th January this year.
