Kakamega County Government in conjuction with the United States Government today has launched the construction of a company to manufacture fertilizer from waste in Matawa area, Mumias West.

Speaking on the event, the ambassador of the united states in Kenya, Margaret whiteman, said that his government has committed to partner with the government of Kenya to make different developments and through this fertilizer manufacturing company, it will help this nation to increase food production.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Kakamega County Fernandes Barasa has said this company will help clean up the environment, create job opportunities and raise the economy in the area.

The governor of Vihiga, Wilber Otichilo has indicated that many farmers from this area have been getting poor harvest by using inappropriate fertilizer and now they have every reason to smile for the launching of the factory
