Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi has called on his Nairobi counterpart Edwin Sifuna to abandon his legal battle of trying to reclaim the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary-General position.

The senator made the remarks during a funeral ceremony in Emmabwi, Emuhaya Constituency, Vihiga County, on Friday, June 26.

Sisi tumepata kijana; Mungu ametusaidia. Edwin Sifuna, tumesema yeye ndo atakuwa ndume yetu mbele.

Osotsi also said that the party has continued to disregard them since the death of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Wacha iende,” Osotsi said.

Sifuna rejects ODM decision

As Osotsi is pushing for Sifuna to abandon the fight for the SG position, the Nairobi senator insisted he will continue to fight for the prestigious ODM post.

Sifuna also accused the party of repeating what he described as the same unconstitutional and procedurally flawed process that had previously been challenged in court.

“After consultation with our legal teams earlier this morning, it has been decided to once again test the propriety of the purported ouster in the courts because we are convinced it should suffer the same fate as the first one in February,” Sifuna said in a recent statement.
