Tiger Woods will return to competitive golf Tuesday night at the Tomorrow’s Golf League finals, marking a key step in his recovery as he eyes a possible comeback at the Masters.
The 50-year-old is set to feature for Jupiter Links Golf Club in the final match of the best-of-three title series. The format reduces walking demands, offering Woods a controlled environment as he continues his rehabilitation from multiple injuries.
Woods has been working his way back from lumbar disc replacement surgery in October 2025 and a ruptured left Achilles tendon suffered earlier that year. The back procedure was the seventh of his career, underlining the physical challenges he faces.
He last competed in a full tournament at the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon, where he missed the cut. Since then, his appearances have been limited as he focuses on recovery.
Speaking recently, Woods acknowledged the inconsistency in his physical condition.
He said his recovery has good and bad days, noting that the body does not respond as quickly as it once did. He added that some days allow near full activity, while others make simple movement difficult.
Jupiter Links under pressure in finals
Jupiter Links trails in the TGL finals after a narrow 6-5 defeat to Los Angeles Golf Club in the opening match on Monday night.
The match turned in the closing stages when Sahith Theegala birdied the final hole, securing victory under the league’s “hammer” rule, which doubles the value of a hole.
Los Angeles Golf Club, represented by Justin Rose, Tommy Fleetwood and Theegala, recovered from an early deficit in triples play to edge ahead during singles competition.
Jupiter Links, featuring Max Homa, Tom Kim and Kevin Kisner, now must win the second match to force a deciding contest later in the evening.
Masters return remains uncertain
Woods has not confirmed participation in the Masters, scheduled for April at Augusta National, but his involvement in the TGL finals signals progress in his comeback efforts.
Since his 2019 Masters victory, Woods has struggled with injuries that have limited his appearances on the professional circuit. His return continues to draw global attention as one of the sport’s most notable comeback attempts.
The TGL event provides a competitive setting without the full physical demands of traditional tournaments, offering insight into his readiness for a return to elite-level golf.
Whether Woods will compete at Augusta remains unclear, but Tuesday’s appearance represents another step in his gradual return to the game.
