Former Kenya cup sides Nondiescripts RFC and Kisumu RFC have made a return to the top tier of local rugby, the Kenya cup.

This is after both teams qualified for the final of the Championship league which guarantees them a spot at next season’s Kenya cup.

Nondies, who were relegated last season, defeated South Coast Pirates 39-10 at the Ngong Racecourse which now sees the 17-time Kenya Cup champions book a date with Kisumu RFC in the playoff final after the former defeated Daystar Falcons 19-7 at the Madaraka Grounds in Nairobi.

On their part, Kisumu RFC will return to the top flight after missing out on the top-tier rugby competition for two years.

The two sides will replace the relegated Mean Machine and Masinde Muliro in next season’s Kenya Cup with the final scheduled for March 11 at the Ngong Racecourse.

In the Kenya cup defending champions Kabras Sugar will meet former champions KCB rugby in the final of the local rugby scene scheduled for Kakamega this weekend.

Kabras Sugar touched down four tries and a conversion to silence visitors Kenya Harlequin 22-8 in a tight semi-final at the Kakamega Showground on Saturday.

On the other hand, KCB fullback Darwin Mukidza was the tormentor-in-chief as the bankers put up a strong fight to edge visiting Menengai Oilers 38-20 to set up yet another final against the Sugarmen.
