The Orange Democratic Movement led by the Deputy Party leader Simba Arati on Monday held an extensive consultative meeting with ODM delegates and grassroots officials in Eldoret City, Uasin Gishu County.
The engagement brought together over 1,500 party mobilizers, ward-level officials, and delegates in an open and candid forum aimed at strengthening the Orange Democratic Movement’s presence in the region. The leaders listened to concerns from the grassroots, assessed the party’s current standing in the county, and exchanged views on strategies to reinvigorate ODM structures.
Speaking during the meeting at Petercrest Academy , Arati emphasized the importance of unity and inclusivity within the party, noting that strong grassroots networks remain the backbone of ODM’s growth and sustainability.
Deputy Party Leader Governor Simba Arati reiterated the party’s commitment to collaborative leadership, urging officials to work together in rebuilding trust, energizing supporters, and expanding ODM’s footprint across Uasin Gishu County.
“As a party we are happy of this broad-based government. That once two rival parties are now working together towards the Country’s development is something we take pride in,” he said.
According to Arati, the dialogue that aimed to revitalize the party in an inclusive manner that reflects the voices of members conforms to what the late Raila Odinga advocated for before his death. Arati assured ODM members that the party will fully adhere to guidelines earlier given by Raila Odinga.
“Let it be on record that whatever the party does is in line to what Baba wanted and would have done if he were still to be with us. We will forever adhere to guidelines given to us by Raila Odinga,” he added
He has called on young people to take an active role in shaping the country’s future by registering as voters ahead of the 2027 General Election.
“The voice of the youth matters. Regiter as voters, participate peacefully, and let your vote speak for you,” Arati said.
He also appealed for peace and unity during the 2027 election period, noting that violence only undermines development and national cohesion.
Arati encouraged young people to be ambassadors of peace, dialogue, and tolerance, reminding them that elections should be a contest of ideas, not conflict.
