Apostle James Ng’ang’a to appear in court over KSh3.6 million fraud
A controversial televangelist is due in court on Friday over a reported Sh3.6 million fraud claim. Apostle James Maina Ng’ang’a was arrested on Thursday for what police said was a con mission under the guise he could lease houses to a unsuspecting man.
A complaint was filed before the pastor was arrested for failure to meet his part of the bargain before being released on a cash bail.
“He received money from somebody pretending that he is in a position to rent houses to them amounting to KSh3.6 million,” said Stanley Atavachi, Nairobi Central Police boss.
“So when he failed to do that, a report was made and through investigations, an offence was established. He was arrested on Wednesday and released on cash bail to appear in court today (Friday).”
The Neno Evangelist Centre founder has courted controversy and been in and out of the corridors of justice, namely murder charges over the killing of a woman through reckless driving and recently threatening TV journalist Linus Kaikai.
