If Atalanta demand more than £60 million for Rasmus Hjlund, Manchester United will lose interest in the center-forward. Randal Kolo Muani of Eintracht Frankfurt is also a player that Erik ten Hag is seriously considering.
The 20-year-old Hjlund is the forward the United manager is interested in signing. Atalanta are rumored to seek a minimum of £70m for the Denmark international, despite the fact that he has only played one season of Serie A and is unproven in the Premier League.
United is unwilling to pay this price. A different option is 24-year-old French attacker Kolo Muani, who Ten Hag compares to Hjlund in terms of potential. After spending two complete seasons with Nantes in Ligue 1, Kolo Muani spent one season in the Bundesliga.
Mohammed Kudus, a 22-year-old Ghanaian international who plays for Ajax, is another forward on Ten Hag’s radar despite the fact that he primarily plays as a wide forward.
Anthony Martial, who is still recovering from a damaged hamstring, is anticipated to begin training with United this week. After defeating Arsenal 2-0 in their inaugural match at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Saturday, United took off for San Diego on Sunday for the second leg of their US summer tour.
Ten Hag is optimistic that Martial, who suffered an injury in late May, will soon be available again. Jadon Sancho, who typically plays in a wide berth against Arsenal, was used as a false nine in the first half of the match, and it is believed that Ten Hag is experimenting with the striker in that role to see whether he can be a viable option there.
