BUSIA, Kenya Jan 1 – Three University of Nairobi students died after their boat capsized at the Mulokoba Waterfront in Budalangi, Busia County on New Year’s Eve.
The trio was part of a group of seven students who attended a crusade organized by the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Port Victoria.
Bunyala Sub County Police Commander Isaiah Mose confirmed the incident that saw four students rescued alive.
He, however, disclosed that a search and rescue mission was underway to retrieve the body of the one student who died.
“The boat capsized because of its limited carrying capacity,” he said.
