Kenya has announced new entry fees for all heritage sites managed by the National Museums of Kenya, with the revised rates set to take effect on 7 May 2026.
The changes were outlined in a public notice issued on 7 April, citing updated regulations under Legal Notice No. 79 of 2025.
According to the National Museums of Kenya, the new pricing structure is part of efforts to enhance conservation, improve visitor experience and ensure sustainable management of cultural and historical assets.
Under the new rates, Kenyan and East African adult citizens will pay KSh350 to access the Nairobi National Museum and Snake Park, while children will pay KSh200. Visitors from other African countries will be charged USD9 for adults and USD6 for children.
International visitors from outside Africa will pay USD18 for adults and USD9 for children. For the Nairobi Gallery, Kenyan and East African adults will pay KSh300, while children will pay KSh200. Foreign adult visitors will be charged USD14, with children paying USD7.

The Karen Blixen Museum and Fort Jesus will see higher entry fees for local visitors, with Kenyan and East African adults paying KSh550 and children KSh300. African residents will pay USD9 for adults and USD6 for children, while non-African visitors will pay USD18 for adults and USD8 for children.
At coastal heritage locations such as Lamu Fort, Lamu Museum, Swahili House and the German Post Office, Kenyan adults will pay KSh200 and children KSh100. Visitors from outside Africa will be charged USD10 for adults and USD4 for children.
Smaller heritage sites including Tambach, Kakapel, Pate, Nyeri, Shimoni, Songhor, Fort Ternan and Siyu Fort will maintain lower charges. Kenyan adults will pay KSh100, while children will pay KSh50. African visitors will pay USD3 for adults and USD2 for children, with similar rates for international tourists.
The National Museums of Kenya confirmed that entry fees for Hyrax Hill and Rabai will remain unchanged until further notice.
Separately, the National Museums of Kenya announced that the Karen Blixen Museum will be closed on 11 April and 1 May 2026. The institution said normal operations will continue on all other days.
