DCI Kinoti urges PCAK members to serve with integrity to eliminate crime

Members of the Professional criminologists Association of Kenya (PCAK) have been urged to serve the public with integrity and assist the security organs in combating crime.

Director of Criminal Investigations(DCI) Mr. George Kinoti made the announcement over the weekend where  he urged members  to be passionate in bringing crime  down.He defended the Police force and the  entire security organs saying they risk their lives in their line of duty.

“Nobody defends the local mwanainchi except the police force and investigative organs.The Police have been cursed from morning to  evening,Traffic Police are known by all manner of evil despite their  good and risky work they perform.Lets  serve with integrity without fear,crime must go down,Criminals must reform or face  the  full force of the law.We have been branded all types of names,answering to cartels where the accused becomes the complainant while the complainants becomes  the accused.As  we go out there,Lets play our part  deligently.With integrity,you can always do the right things even when  no one is watching.”Observed Kinoti.

The DCI said they will re-open old corruption cases if new evidence is found adding that no amount of intimidation would stop the Police from reviving and investigating afresh old corruption cases.

Kinoti  was addressing participants during the  one-day Corporate Governance  workshop held at the Nairobi’s  PCEA Headquarters at the Milele Hotel.He was flanked by PCAK Chairman  Munene Mugambi,Jane Mugo(CEO Association  of certified Fraud Examiners ACFE), Board Trustee Fredrick  Malu,and newly installed PCEA secretary General Reverend Peter Kania among other senior members in the legal fraternity.

Mugambi told the media they have lined a number of programmes starting from next month where they will visit several schools to create awareness on crime management.Top on their target is Ngari Girls High school in Kirinyaga  county,St.Michael in Mukuru kwa Njenga which falls  under Sister of Mercy umbrella.The Association  which was registered last year boasts of over 350 members drawn from criminal justices in Coast,Rift Valley and other major counties in the country. The event was sponsored by Soham Oils Kenya led by Managing Director Gurcharan S.Bahra who donated a cheque of Ksh.108,000 to finance PCAK activities.Other supporting partners included Dumont,LoCEF Foundation and Vunja Kimya Foundation respectively.
