There is no vacuum at the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) after its Communication manager Barry Otieno was picked to replace besieged Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Robert Muthomi. Otieno will act in an acting capacity.

This comes just a day after Robert Muthomi stepped aside to allow investigations continue into allegations that he tried to aid the transfer of Sofapaka and Kenyan international John Avire.

Addressing the media at the FKF Kandanda House offices, FKF president Nick Mwendwa who was flanked by his deputy Madam Doris Petra revealed that Otieno will double up on both roles until investigations on Muthomi are concluded.

“Yes, out of respect, Robert Muthomi has asked to step aside from his position and we have granted his wish, in the hope that he will in time be vindicated. We shall wait for the report and findings from the committee before we make an announcement “Observed Mwendwa.

“The FKF emergency committee met yesterday and resolved to have Chief Communications Officer Barry Otieno act as CEO of the federation while Robert is away because FKF functions must continue to execute his mandate,” said Mwendwa
