Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) side Bandari has dismissed its technical bench on Tuesday ahead of the new season.
According to the Dockers management, the reason behind the sudden decision is for the local Premier League side to restructure in preparation for the next campaign.
The Coast-based side are under a new board that has set its targets towards changing the fortunes of the Mbaraki-based club a competitive outfit.
However, head coach Twahir Muhiddin survived the purge that the Dockers undertook as they seek to turn around their fortunes in the local Premier League.
Reports indicate that the playing unit will also see several players released with almost 15 players set to be released in order to create space for the new bunch of players.
Close sources within the Docker’s management have implied Muhiddin is tipped to be appointed as the permanent coach, and Yusuf Ndere, who formerly worked at Congo Boys, is being lined up to deputise the former Harambee Stars head coach.
Former Gor Mahia goalkeeper Jerry Onyango who boasts of a Premier League winner’s medal with Gor Mahia, is expected to assume the role of goalkeeper’s coach.
Muhiddin has been acting on a temporary basis since the club parted ways with Anthony Modo Kimani following a defeat by AFC Leopards in the FKF Cup.
Francis Kimanzi, Patrick Aussems of AFC Leopards, and Tusker’s Robert Matano had been tipped to take over the Dockers, but they appear to have changed their minds about appointing a new coach.
Bandari are exploring alternative venues to host their league and cup matches next season after Kenya Ports Authority (KPA) decided to close Mbaraki Stadium indefinitely.
