Champions St. Anthony and Shanderema in Pool A at FEASSSA

Shanderema and St. Anthony players vie for the ball when the two teams met in the semi-finals at Bukhungu in Kakamega.

Kenya secondary schools sports association national soccer champions St. Anthony of Kitale, will renew their rivalry with Shanderema High School at the upcoming FEASSSA games slated for later this month in Rwanda.

Kitale’s St. Anthony has been drawn in pool A together with Shanderema,  whom they beat by one goal to nil in the national semi-finals in Kakamega.

Other teams in pool A are Tanzania secondary schools’ champions Kalangala, Uganda’s finalists St. Henry’s College, Kitovu, and their counterparts Amus College school, who finished in third position as well as Rwanda finalists CGFK.

Kenya’s finalist Dagoretti High has been pooled in group B together with Uganda’s champions St. Marys Kitende, Rwanda’s champions Ecose Musambira, finalists Kiwira Coal Mine of Tanzania as well as Kibuli SS of Uganda who finished in fourth position.

Uganda will be represented by 4 soccer teams when Kenya will have three soccer representatives while Tanzania and Rwanda will have 2 teams each.

In the girls’ category, Kenya champions Butere girls are drawn in pool A together with Rwanda’s champions GS Gatizo, Uganda’s finalists St Noa Girls, Tanzania’s finalists Ziba secondary, their Kenyan counterparts Madira girls who finished in position three together with Kawempe Muslim of Uganda who also finished in position three.

Kenya’s finalists Wiyeta are drawn in group B, which also comprises Tanzania’s champions Fountain Gate, Uganda’s champions Amus College School, Rwanda finalist APAER and Uganda’s Sacred Heart Gulu who finished in fourth position.

The games will be played from 17-27 August 2023 in Rwanda.

The government of Kenya through the Ministry of Education has promised to support the Kenyan teams that will be participating in this year’s FEASSSA games in Rwanda.
